This special cycle brings various female chracters from the Shakespeare stage to the concert podium - the poet's words are transformed into music sung by female voices, of course: the fairy who wanders over hill and dale, the elves who protect their queen Titnia's sleep and love-doubting Helena in Midsummernight's dream, Lady Macbeth and the witches who prepare a horrible potion for Macbeth, Queen Gertude's report about Ophelia's drowning in Hamlet, Desdemona's Willow Song shortly before Othello stabs her and Julia raving about her lover Romeo.

The cycle was premiered in Sandness (Norway) by female choir CONCENTUS under the direction of Per Sigmund Rettedal on Sunday, 26th March 2023 and involved solo dancing and stage choreography which really brought the female characters to life - an unforgettable experience which they even intensified when they came to Berin to peform the German premier on the 1st of November 2024!

In May 2025 the Ensemble Fenice from Munich sang "The Elves" from my cycle SHAKESPEAREAN WOMEN during the German Choir Festival in Nürnberg as part of their competition program in the contemporary music category - and won the first prize!
